GPSIA Statement on FCC, NTIA Spectrum Coordination Initiative
WASHINGTON, February 15, 2022 – Acting Executive Director of the GPS Innovation Alliance (GPSIA), Alex Damato, issued the following statement on the announcement of the Federal Communications Commission’s (FCC’s) and National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA’s) Spectrum Coordination Initiative:
“The GPS Innovation Alliance and the GPS industry welcome the FCC’s and NTIA’s joint announcement of the Spectrum Coordination Initiative. We agree that a whole-of-government approach is necessary to restoring and revamping the spectrum coordination process and strongly applaud Chairwoman Jessica Rosenworcel and Assistant Secretary Alan Davidson for committing to actions that can improve the federal government’s spectrum policy decisions. We look forward to working with the FCC and NTIA on these efforts, including the development of accepted technical standards and interference protection criteria that are necessary to protect vital satellite-based services like GPS.”
