GPSIA Congratulates Ms. Courtney Reinhard
on Her Appointment as Chief, FCC Space Bureau
Lisa Dyer, Executive Director of the GPS Innovation Alliance (GPSIA), issued the following statement:
“GPSIA congratulates Ms. Courtney Reinhard on her appointment to serve as Chief of the Federal Communications Commission Space Bureau. Throughout her distinguished career in the wireless industry, at the FCC, and most recently as Chief Telecommunications Counsel to the U.S. Senate Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee, Ms. Reinhard has demonstrated a deep understanding of complex satellite policy, spectrum management, and the regulatory frameworks essential to continued American leadership in both space and telecommunications.
“The FCC’s Space Bureau plays a vital role in safeguarding satellite services from harmful interference while advancing innovative commercial space systems. As the space economy continues to rapidly expand and new satellite constellations are deployed, it is critical that the Commission continues to authorize these systems to operate while protecting foundational space systems like GPS and commercial positioning, navigation and timing (PNT) systems, which provide indispensable economic, national security, and public safety benefits to our nation.
“We look forward to working closely with Ms. Reinhard, Chairman Carr, and the dedicated Space Bureau team to advance policies that strengthen the resilience of our space-based PNT infrastructure and secure U.S. leadership in the final frontier.”
