FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: August 2, 2022 CONTACT: Kelly Miller Kelly.Miller@fticonsulting.com GPSIA Statement on Updated FCC, NTIA Spectrum Coordination Memorandum of Understanding WASHINGTON, August 2, 2022 – Acting Executive Director of the GPS Innovation Alliance (GPSIA), Alex Damato, issued the following statement on the announcement of the Federal Communications Commission’s (FCC’s) and National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA’s) updated memorandum of understanding (MOU) on spectrum coordination: “The GPS Innovation Alliance and the GPS industry welcome the FCC’s and NTIA’s updated spectrum coordination MOU. We particularly appreciate the MOU's recognition of the need to protect services that are essential to national security and safety-of-life and the implementation of a process to escalate concerns about harmful interference when appropriate and necessary to facilitate a whole-of-government approach to spectrum management.
