GPSIA Statement on Nomination of Anna Gomez as FCC Commissioner and Renominations of Geoffrey Starks and Brendan Carr as FCC Commissioners
WASHINGTON, May 22, 2023 – Executive Director of the GPS Innovation Alliance (GPSIA), Lisa Dyer, issued the following statement on President Biden’s nomination of Anna Gomez and renominations of Geoffrey Starks and Brendan Carr as Commissioners of the Federal Communications Commission:
“The GPS Innovation Alliance and the GPS industry congratulate Anna Gomez on her nomination as FCC Commissioner. Her experiences at the U.S. Department of State and as a private sector telecommunications lawyer will serve her well in addressing public and private sector telecommunications priorities. Her roles at the National Telecommunications and Information Administration, and the International Bureau of the FCC, will equip her well to provide input on critical policies, like PNT spectrum policies and allocation, that will help shape the future of GPS technologies.”
The GPS Innovation Alliance would also like to congratulate Commissioners Geoffrey Starks and Brendan Carr on their renominations to serve at the FCC. Commissioners Starks and Carr both bring a wealth of experience to the Commission and will continue to play influential roles in driving American innovation.
“We look forward to undertaking an even more robust set of issues pertinent to the future of GPS and the services derived from it that serve the United States and the global community. We look forward to working with the Chairwoman, the full complement of Commissioners, and FCC staff in support of policies that promote, protect, and enhance GPS.”
